You can also use the scout to build a city, move the treasure train into the city, then recreate your scout to disband the city.

Aha! I found it. I can use my own galleon, but it must be carrying no other cargo. The King still takes his tax bite, which was around 7%, but I got the rest.

Thanks. I was sure there was a way to avoid letting the King take his bite, by using my own galleon. Oh, well...

Your own galleon can't transport the gold. Move your wagon train out of the town, then move it back in. You will be asked if you want the king's galleons to transport the gold back home (at a price - you'll lose most of the cash). If you don't want to pay that, there is one founding father that can greatly reduce transport costs. Wait for him to become available and leave your wagon train fortified in the port town. :)

I've located one of the Seven Cities of Cibola, and have managed to move the wagon train (worth 5400!) to a coastal settlement. I have a Galleon, but can't seem to load the treasure on board. When the ship is in port, the wagon train isn't visible. I tried to sail one square away, wait the ship, and move the treasure wagon onto the ship -- still no dice. What am I missing?

Looking good indeed! A pity that the cultural borders don't seem to be showing - it would make it clearer, perhaps, what countries we can play as (if we have even a long shot that there will be more than the basic 4).
